About the role:
At Total Mayhem Games (TMG), we create immersive co-op experiences like the award winning 'We Were Here'-series. Our games are known for unique, diegetic user interfaces that fully immerse players in the action. We are looking for a talented UX Designer to help elevate our players' game experiences to the next level!
Responsibilities:
As a UX Designer, your core responsibilities are designing UI/UX, including interaction design, leading accessibility initiatives and conducting UX research and playtesting.
Your other tasks will consist of:
Design and prototype elegant, intuitive and accessible UI/UX using a flow-based methodology;
Collaborate with 2D-artists to ensure clarity and visual quality in the UI;
Support the design team in creating consistent game interactions across multiple devices and platforms;
Integrate temporary and final assets in the game-engine and testing their functionality;
Taking responsibility for accessibility;
Validating designs through playtests and team feedback, and using data for iteration;
Lead playtest-initiatives, including developing clear research goals and conducting mixed-methods UX research;
Responsible for platform-compliance, of multiple platforms, to ensure UI compliance with platform certification requirements.
What we're looking for:
2+ years of proven experience in UX-design, preferably in the gaming industry;
Technical expertise in UI implementation, preferably with Unity;
Familiarity with mixed research methods and enthusiasm for user research;
Experience with accessibility design;
Proficiency in UI/UX-prototyping tools like Figma or Adobe XD;
Knowledge of platform certification requirements (like PSN, TRCs, XRCs)
Fluency in English.
For this position, already living in the Netherlands and coming to the office 3 times a week is a requirement.
Bonus points;
Expertise in graphic design;
Experience with Photoshop and Illustrator;
Experience releasing games on 8th-and-9th consoles (Xbox, PlayStation and/or Switch).
